Talent Attraction + Retention
BRIDGE supports and develops programs to attract
and retain an engaged, skilled workforce.
Our region has many innovative companies and top educational institutions that need to attract and retain talent. BRIDGE can support existing companies and improve business attraction by improving regional quality of life and supporting programs that develop the young professionals who call this region home.

We are proud to partner with the STRONG Accountable Care Community and the collective impact efforts of their partners to build a region where every child – regardless of zip code, race/ethnicity, or circumstance – has the opportunity and support to become a thriving and economically independent young adult.

As a part of their Achievable Futures Workgroup, we collaborate with partners across the region to expose middle and high school students to a wide range of potential careers, make sure high school students are ready for college or postsecondary training or are ready to excel in the workforce, and ensure young adults are economically independent - earning thriving wages and benefits while being actively involved in the community.
TEDxJohnsonCity returns to our region on Fri., June 26, 2026, at the ETSU Martin Center for the Arts. Last year's topic was "Past, Present, and Future Appalachians" and featured seven speakers, two musicians, and a spoken word artist for one incredible evening of regional talent and passion. The purpose of this event is to share "ideas worth spreading," highlight the amazing talent in our region, and emphasize the incredible quality of life here.

You can watch previous years' events below. 2026 event tickets go on sale soon.

With the rise of young professional groups across the region, a new YP initiative has taken shape at East Tennessee State University. YPOC is a student-run organization designed to offer networking opportunities, résumé workshops, career exploration, and meaningful connections with regional employers. BRIDGE is proud to serve as a backbone for the student organization and assist with connections and support.
