Private investment in development strengthens community tax bases, creating new funding for schools and other amenities while making communities more attractive to retain residents and attract new residents. Private developers typically drive these developments by attracting retail tenants or meeting residential demand. However, not all commercial and residential developers are familiar with economic development programs that offer incentives for creating public infrastructure. By helping developers understand community incentives before they engage, and introducing developers to communities, BRIDGE can encourage development of a wide variety of commercial, industrial, retail, residential, and recreational spaces in our region.
